Born, raised, and living in New Orleans, Stanton grew up in the thriving scene that produced Professor Longhair, Dr John, the Meters, and countless others. In the ‘90s, Moore formed the “steam-roller” funk band, Galactic, produced the widely-acclaimed Coolin’ Off, and hit the road to do 200 gigs a year. The band has since released five albums and continues to tour globally. Aided by guitar virtuoso Charlie Hunter and saxophonist Skerik, Moore then launched his solo career in '98 with All Kooked Out!
Showing a rare versatility, Moore plays on Corrosion of Conformity’s In the Arms of God, Irma Thomas’ After the Rain and Robert Walter’s Super Heavy Organ.
III, his third solo recording ('06) was recorded at the legendary Preservation Hall and features Robert Walter and guitarist Will Bernard.
Despite personal setbacks, Moore donated gear and performed benefit shows to raise money for Katrina victims. In an effort to preserve New Orleans music and culture, he recently spearheaded Tipitina’s Music Workshop for young musicians.
