After three independent-label releases, NY-based songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Richard Julian made his major-label debut in 2006 with Slow New York, introducing what Harp calls Julian's “nimble lyricism” and "keenly observational songs" to an international audience. The Washington Post called the album, "one of the year's best."
A ubiquitous presence of late, he has also enjoyed success as a member of The Little Willies, a country side-project with Norah Jones and Jim Campilongo; and as co-producer and performer on Sasha Dobson’s Modern Romance. Julian spent last year on tour with Bonnie Raitt, Rosanne Cash, and Madelleine Peyroux.
"Richard just knocks me out. Some of the coolest, smartest and original music I've heard in years."
— Bonnie Raitt
Richard has just completed recording with legendary producer, Mitchell Froom. The record features longtime cohorts Dan Rieser (drums) and Tim Luntzel (bass) and is due for release in early 2008 on Manhattan/EMI.
